I am so excited about this, I thought it would be appropriate for my FIRST EVER blog post. I just signed up for National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) and I am beyond thrilled about it. I actually feel kinda silly about how excited I am, but I'm an English major. I'm allowed to get excited about things like writing or getting three pre-ordered books in the mail. Millersville has its own region this year so maybe I can meet some other people who are as excited about writing as I am. I haven't, as of yet, chosen what I'm actually going to write about. I have a week, it'll be fine *knocks on wood*. Maybe this story will actually get finished.
On the other side of all of this excitement about novel writing, my field experience starts the second week in November. Now, I'm super excited about this. I love teaching and maybe if I tell the students that I'm writing a novel, someday they might want to do it too. But, I'm worried about the combination of field and NaNoWriMo. When I write, I like to sit down and pour out my brain onto the paper for hours until its soggy and there's puddles on the floor. Will I have enough time to get my 50,000 word minimum? Will I be able to focus on two important, awesome, fun events at the same time? Stay tuned for the next installment of: Help My Brain Can't Handle All This!
Currently Reading: Manhattan Transfer by John Dos Passos for Modern American Fiction. Torment by Lauren Kate for me.
