NaNoWriMo update

We are coming to the halfway point in NaNo and I have to say, I'm having a great time, but I am WAY behind. I love my novel and one of my characters just introduced me to another character that I never saw coming, but I only have 16,000 words. I'm no where close to the halfway point in my story or my word count. Plus, I have my professional block teaching placement all this month and the school is an hour away. That is an hour of time that I could be writing where instead I'm driving up and down mountains in the dark. (I love my placement, by the way. The kids are great and my co-op is fantastic. Its just really far away.)

This brings me to my question for the day: How do you find time to sit down and write? What motivates you to catch up on the word count?

My answer: I hate to lose. I am highly competitive by nature and I need to be able to say that I won at NaNoWriMo. I also love my novel and really want to finish Kira's story.

Side note: My parentals are coming up this weekend for my momma's birthday so I might be MIA for a couple days. But fear not! I shall return, hopefully with a better word count and some reviews.

  1. If you are in love with your book and your character, just let it come at your own pace! Keep up the great work!
